MAMDOUH ADWAN PUBLISHING HOUSE

Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House is an independent Arab publisher based in Sharjah Publishing City, United Arab Emirates, drawing on twenty years of experience in literary publishing, nonfiction and translation. Its catalogue spans novels, short stories, poetry, drama, critical studies and science, bringing together original Arabic writing and translated works from around the world. The house is committed to discovering new literary voices and bringing significant works back into readers’ hands, with close attention to editing, proofreading and design. Translation is central to its publishing programme, fostering cultural exchange and broadening access to knowledge. Working with translators, publishers, literary agents and international cultural institutions, the house brings a diverse range of works into Arabic directly from their original languages, introducing readers to both established authors and voices deserving wider recognition. The house received the Best Arab Publishing House Award at the Sharjah International Book Fair in 2016, jointly won the Best Arab Publisher Award at the Cairo International Book Fair in 2023, and received the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding in 2023 in the Achievement category for institutions translating from Spanish into Arabic.
