About this book

Their Stories grew out of a creative-writing workshop run by the Musawa organisation and led by Lebanese novelist Najwa Barakat. The contributors are Syrian women writing from experiences of war, displacement and the collapse of lives they once considered secure. Their stories do not reduce women to passive victims: they transform pain, fear and survival into literary testimony, preserving voices that violence and social convention have repeatedly attempted to silence.
