About this book

A widowed office worker approaching retirement records the monotony of his days until an unexpected relationship briefly transforms his life. Benedetti’s intimate diary novel is a tender study of loneliness, late love and happiness experienced as a fragile truce. Originally written in Spanish as “La tregua”, the work appears here in an Arabic translation by Saleh Almani.
