About this book

Originally conceived as an introduction to The Invention of Ancient Israel, a work Mamdouh Adwan translated into Arabic, this study grew into an independent examination of Israeli influence on the writing of history—especially the history of the region. Adwan investigates how biblical narratives are presented as knowledge, how political assumptions enter academic frameworks and how sources acquire authority. The book is a critical intervention in the struggle over historiography, evidence and cultural memory.
