About this book

Mamdouh Hamadeh approaches everyday life as a drama already in progress, in which sincerity often proves more convincing than performance. Through brief, agile narratives, he reflects on acting, spectatorship and the strange ways people become characters in stories they believe are happening elsewhere. Wry, philosophical and alert to human contradiction, The Drama Notebook turns the techniques of theatre and screenwriting back onto ordinary experience.
