About this book

These accessible lectures begin not with abstract systems but with the activity of living itself. Ortega y Gasset asks what people do when familiar knowledge fails, why human beings require an account of reality, and in what sense metaphysics is something each person already practises. Some Lessons in Metaphysics offers a lucid introduction to the philosopher’s thought, connecting fundamental questions of being, choice and circumstance to everyday experience. Originally written in Spanish as “unas lecciones de metafísica”, the work appears here in an Arabic translation by Ali Ibrahim Ashqar.
