About this book

Nikos Kazantzakis called Report to Greco not an autobiography but the record of his spiritual ascent. Addressed to El Greco, the fellow Cretan he chose as an imagined ancestor, the book follows the people, passions, ideas and journeys through which he sought the highest point his strength could reach. This Arabic edition presents a major twentieth-century writer’s final testament: part memoir, part travel narrative and part philosophical account of struggle, creation and faith. Originally written in Greek as “Αναφορά στον Γκρέκο”, this is the Arabic edition published by Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House.
