About this book

Published with Ettijahat and introduced by Salam Kawakibi, this volume brings together three studies of cultural work under violent crisis. Marie Elias examines cultural mechanisms and production in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon; Rama Nejmeh studies the role of culture and the arts in reconciliation and civil peace; and the Syrian Center for Policy Research addresses the development of cultural structures in Syria. Together they connect cultural practice to institutions, recovery and the conditions of sustainable public life.
