About this book

James Earl Ray reaches Lisbon after assassinating Martin Luther King Jr., travelling on a false passport and following news of his place among the FBI’s most wanted. Decades later, Antonio Muñoz Molina returns to the same city and to the period in which he was writing his first novel. Braiding the fugitive’s ten days with the novelist’s own past, Like a Fading Shadow explores obsession, historical reconstruction and the elusive inner life of a man known through one irrevocable act. Originally written in Spanish as “Como la sombra que se va”, this is the Arabic edition published by Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House.
