About this book

On honeymoon in Italy, Mihály encounters a friend from his youth, accidentally leaves his wife at a railway station and begins travelling alone through the memories that have haunted him. Old companions, a suicide and the enigmatic Éva draw him towards questions of death, desire and the life he did not choose. Antal Szerb’s elegant cult novel blends comedy, travel and existential unease into a journey through Italy and the divided self. Originally written in Hungarian as “Utas és holdvilág”, this is the Arabic edition published by Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House.
