About this book

Written between 2009 and 2015, the thirteen poems in Mohammad Abou Laban’s third collection span years of radical political, social and literary change in Syria. Their language stays close to the ordinary breath of daily life while moving through loss, exile and repeated attempts at survival. Exercises in Feasibility asks what poetry can still make possible when every practical measure of usefulness has been damaged, turning attention itself into a modest form of resistance.
