About this book

Since childhood, Tammouz has believed cinema can reveal lives happening far away that resemble his own. He travels to Dubai to earn money for film school, but drifts into worlds of sex and money until revolution and war in Syria awaken him to the stories waiting at home. Rosa Yaseen Hasan blends films with lived reality so closely that the boundary between them dissolves, creating a passionate novel about cinema, compromised dreams and the responsibility to record catastrophe.
