About this book

Neither conventional novel nor documentary diary, Raed Wahesh’s text allows poetry, prose, fiction and lived record to dissolve into one another. Its fragments move between private detail and collective Syrian experience, between sudden laughter and grief that exceeds narrative expectation. A Missing Piece of Damascus Sky is a hybrid work of war and displacement, written in a form elastic enough to hold contradictions that no single genre can adequately contain.
