About this book

After Mamdouh Adwan’s death, a computer file titled ‘A Poet’s Work’ was found containing complete poems prepared for publication alongside pieces he had labelled unfinished. This final collection brings those texts together under the title of a book he had intended to publish before death interrupted it. A Leap in the Air offers previously unseen finished poems and fragments left open to possibility, preserving the movement of a major Syrian poet’s work at the edge of silence.
